CT Scans

Overview: 
 
CT scanning rock material (whole core, sidewall core, plug sample) is critical for identifying fractures, vugs to assess suitability of rock material for geomechanics, petrophysics and flow testing and to QC results.  
 
The example attached shows how CT scanning plugs identify heterogeneity and presence of fracture.  
 
The video shows how scanning the whole core helped avoid fractures before drilling plug.
